Applied Behavior Analysis
ABA is simply the application of behavior principles to everyday situations that will, over time, increase or decrease targeted behaviors. It has been used to help individuals acquire many different skills and decrease challenging behaviors.
We use the science of observing, defining and analyzing behavior to create treatment plans that promote pro-social behaviors in children who have difficulties in social and behavioral areas. Parent training is made a part of every treatment plan.
Home and center-based services
Home Services
We provide services in the home environment, including assessing initial skills, behavioral assessment and program development.
After our staff begins the initial program and specific goals, we train parents, caregivers and parent-hired staff to work with your child at home. We meet with providers to monitor progress, review documentation and make adjustments as necessary.
Treatment Centers
Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts, behavioral specialists and special instructors take an empirical approach. Our centers were built with your child in mind.
We set goals and work toward them in one-on-one sessions. Under therapist supervision, your child also interacts with children the same age and learns conversation skills, how to make friends and, most importantly, how to have fun!
Building social skills together
Small groups give children and pre-teens a safe place to practice new skills with peers.
ASD Pre-Teen & Adolescent Group
Led by trained professionals and supervised by Board Certified Behavior Analysts, our pre-teen program focuses on verbal behavior to work on:
- Social skills
- Communication skills
- Building relationships
- Job readiness
Social Skills Camp
During the summer, we refer to our daytime ABA program as Social Skills Camp to distinguish it from our after school services. This is the same individualized ABA therapy we provide throughout the year, with an added emphasis on social skills development, peer interaction and opportunities to practice communication and social thinking in natural settings.
Social Skills Camp is available exclusively to children who are currently receiving ABA services through A Friendly Face. It is not a separate camp program, but rather our regular ABA services offered during summer daytime hours, incorporating meaningful opportunities for social learning and peer engagement.
Our ABA services are designed for children with ASD, and we believe that building social communication skills can benefit children in many areas of life.
Social Skills Groups
Small group therapy for social groups and other natural environment training activities, including music, yoga and creative play, which combines art, theater, music and movement.
Family Training & Support
Parent training is emphasized and made a part of every treatment plan, with a monthly parent group. We also offer sibling support groups.
